In this original application, one of the residents of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh has raised an issue that illegal slaughtering of animals is going on in Al-Nasir Slaughtering House which is polluting air, water and other sources of human consumption.

Further plea is that the slaughter house was sealed by the authorities on 18.08.2023 but within one week thereof, the slaughter house again illegally started operating and the said owner of the slaughter house is slaughtering illegally in another adjoining Karan Frozen Foods Unit in violation of environmental norms.

Learned counsel for the Applicant has pointed out that a representation dated 25.08.2023 has already been submitted to the Chairman, Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB), but no action on the said representation has been taken and the reminder representation was sent on 11.09.2023.

Learned Counsel appearing for the Project Proponent on Caveat has disputed the above facts and the allegation.

In view of the fact that the factual dispute has been raised and the representation has already been submitted by the Applicant which has not been considered till now, we deem it proper to dispose of the present OA directing the Chairman, UPPCB to duly consider the Applicant’s representation dated 25.08. ted 25.08.2023 by following the principles of natural justice and take appropriate action in accordance with law.

Let this exercise be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The OA is accordingly disposed of.

Let a copy of this order be forwarded to the Chairman, UPPCB by e- mail for compliance.
