This original application is registered on the basis of the news item titled “Gas leak threat: School evacuated in West Delhi’s Naraina, fire tenders rushed” published in Times of India dated 16.10.2023.

As per the said news item there was foul smell believed to be emitting from the gas storage facility witnessed in a school in Naraina area of West Delhi for which PCR call and call to Delhi Fire Service (DFS) was made as there was potential gas or chemical leak from drums stored in a godown.

As per the report, preliminary indication suggests that some form of chemical fumes or gas with a pungent smell was seeping from the containers stored in the godown premises.

The issue involved in the matter needs to be examined and considered at the first instance by the Secretary, DPCC.

Hence we dispose of the original application directing the Secretary, DPCC to duly consider the issue and take appropriate remedial measure in accordance with law.

Let the needful be done within a period of two months from date of receipt of the copy of this order.
