The reliefs claimed in the Original Application inter alia is for a direction to the Respondents to take all steps in controlling and monitoring Noise Pollution in all the Silence Zones of West Bengal/City of Howrah and Kolkata with a further direction to disallow, fixing and blowing of air horns/electric horns in motor vehicles.

We find that alleged Silence Zones of West Bengal/City of Howrah and Kolkata have not been stated in the Application.

The Application is based on absolutely general reliefs without mentioning which are those specific hotspots and the ‘Silence Zones’.

Subhas Datta, the Applicant prays that he may be permitted to withdraw this Original Application with liberty to file fresh Original Application giving all necessary particulars.

The Original Application No.136/2023/EZ is accordingly dismissed of with the aforesaid liberty.
