This is an application registered by the Principal Bench of the National Green Tribunal based on a complaint received by post from one Mr.

A copy of the said letter is also found in the file.

The letter which is dated 25.01.2022 said to have been sent from Thodupuzha does not contain the signature of the sender.

So, the said unsigned letter was registered by the Principal Bench of the National Green Tribunal only considering the issues involved which include an incinerator inside the sanctuary resulting in air pollution and also the encroachment of Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary and running of elephant rides inside the sanctuary.

Today, there is one Mr.

Jayachandran along with his counsel Mr.

Praveen appeared and stated that he never sent such a representation to the Hon’ble Principal Bench, National Green Tribunal, New Delhi.

It is mischievously sent by somebody else.

The learned Government Pleader representing the State of Kerala would state that the said M.N.

Jayachandran is the nominee of the National Animal Welfare Board and he has also filed cases in public interest as W.P.

13275 of 2019 in the interest of elephants inside the forest and also captive elephants.

On the same line, there are several Writ Petitions that are also Suo Motu registered and are pending before the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala.

Since the letter petitioner had disowned himself in this petition and the similar matter is already seized of by the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala, this Original Application [O.A.

148 of 2023(SZ)] is closed.
