CORAM : THE CHIEF JUSTICE DHIRAJ SINGH THAKUR SRI JUSTICE RAVI CHEEMALAPATI DATE : 20th January, 2025 P C : The petitioner claims to have completed his Post Graduation in Radio- Diagnosis from Sri Venkateswara Medical College (5th respondent) in the year 1989 and was accordingly awarded the degree by Sri Venkateswara University (respondent No.4).

The grievance of the petitioner is that respondent No.2 – Andhra Pradesh Medical Council is not issuing additional qualification registration certificate to the petitioner on the premise that the course pursued by the petitioner is not recognized by respondent No.1 – National Medical Commission.

However, Mr.

Vivek Chandrasekhar S, learned counsel appearing for the National Medical Commission, states that in view of the communication, dated 16.02.2024, issued by the National Medical Commission and addressed to all State Medical Councils, a decision has been taken to grant recognition to Post Graduate Diploma in Radio Diagnosis for students admitted during the period 1979-80 to 2012-13 as also students admitted to MD-Radio Diagnosis/ Radiology during the period 1983-84 to 2009-10 granted by Sri Venkateswara Medical College, Tirupati.

In that view of the matter, respondent No.2 – Andhra Pradesh Medical Council is directed to take requisite steps including registration of the Post Graduate Degree obtained by the petitioner in M.D (Radio Diagnosis), if all other statutory requirements are otherwise fulfilled by the petitioner.

The Writ Petition is, accordingly, disposed of.

No order as to costs. to costs.

Miscellaneous applications pending, if any, shall stand closed.
