The writ petitioner is before this Court for a direction for release of family pension.

It is submitted that the husband of the writ petitioner who has since deceased, had retired from service of the respondent University on 31.10.2010, and after retirement was in receipt of monthly pension till his death on 25.01.2018, but however no family pension has been released to the petitioner, after his demise.

Ms.
Chettri, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the fact of the demise of the petitioner’s husband was duly informed to the respondent University, and a representation was also made on 21.08.2023, which has however evoked no response till date.
She therefore, prays that directions be issued to the respondent University to dispose of the representation, and to release the family pension as entitled.

Mr.
Sen, learned counsel for the respondent University submits that as the matter is concerning family pension, the respondent University will dispose of the representation as expeditiously as possible.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsels for the parties, this writ petition is disposed of at the motion stage itself, by directing the respondent University to dispose of the representation dated 21.08.2023 (annexed at Annexure-5 to the writ petition), preferably within a period of 2(two) months from the date of this order.

With the above directions, this matter stands closed and is accordingly disposed of. sposed of.
